This commission from the Ediston / Europa team will bring approximately £10m of investment to a building which had become somewhat tired since its construction in the 1990’s. The scheme will create new Grade A office floor space, alongside a great new entrance experience and cafe facilities which will bring life to both the building and the surrounding area.

Design Approach

The overall intention or mission for the project is to bring life and a new character of quality and modernity to what has become a dated building.

Our approach to achieving this mission is to carefully focus on the key areas which will promote vibrancy, using new spatial concepts and high quality materials which will provide both the required technical functional performance, as well as a successful outcome to the mission.

The front entrance area externally will be reconfigured, introducing new high quality landscaping materials to create a pedestrian focussed entrance square for the benefit of occupiers. The square will include seating areas, water and tree planting, as well as a large format brise soleil which brings a sense of enclosure, promoting life and vibrancy to the place and offering the opportunity for both relaxation and outside informal working. Through the atrium, a new café creates an axis of activity on the natural desire lines of the office entrances.
