We’re pleased to announce the recent appointment of Education Expert Emma-Louise Hannigan as Associate.
Emma-Louise will be based within the Belfast Studio of HLM. A former student at University College Dublin and Queen’s University Belfast,
Emma-Louise returns home to Northern Ireland after working in Australia for 10 years with Melbourne-based Woods Bagot.
During this time, she progressed from Architecture Graduate to Senior Associate and worked on a wide range of projects of various scale and complexity in the education, commercial and residential sectors.
Emma-Louise’s appointment at HLM comes at a time when the education sector is in sharp focus. Just last week a webinar, led by HLM Architects and hosted by the Royal Society of Ulster Architects (RSUA), attracted over 90 delegates and explored design principles of Special Education Needs schools.
Welcoming Emma-Louise to HLM, Belfast Studio Director, Nicola McKay said: “We are delighted to welcome Emma-Louise to the company. She comes to HLM with extensive experience in the education sector and we know she will be an excellent addition to our team.”
As a former Education Sector Leader with Woods Bagot, Emma-Louise brings extensive experience in education environments. She has a passion for planning, design and realisation of new generation learning spaces that enable enriched learning experiences across all education sectors.
Emma-Louise said she is delighted to be joining the team at HLM Architects: “As a Project Architect, I thrive on collaboration with the client and wider consultant team. Central to this is ensuring effective communication and dynamic collaboration between all parties; this ensures we realise optimal and unique outcomes for each project.”
As Education Sector Leader with Woods Bagot, Emma-Louise has led teams of up to 15 in-house staff members on projects ranging in value from AUD $1million to AUD $60million and size from 1000m2 to 26,000m2.
