HLM Architects Shortlisted for ‘Best Use of Technology’ at the AJ100 Awards

The practice has been nominated for the Thoughtful Design Toolkit (TDT), which contains a suite of digital tools that enable designers and commissioning clients to define, develop and assess their building projects in an evidence-based way.

The tool helps ensure that the vision and ambition for a project is well-defined and that design is developed to deliver the desired outcome for a project, especially in terms of environmental sustainability and social impact.

The practice has recently launched HLM_Healthcheck as one of three digital tools that make up the Thoughtful Design Toolkit, which assesses how emerging building design concepts are likely to perform by measuring the quality of the environment for the people that use them. The other two components, HLM_Insight and HLM_Impact examine stakeholder engagement and post-occupancy evaluation.

Most digital construction initiatives address delivery efficiency issues alone. While the TDT also improves efficiency of engagement, reduces abortive work, and shapes best practice while placing building occupants at the forefront of design.

The winners will be announced at the AJ100 festival taking place virtually from 20^th to 22^nd September 2021.
