The finalists were announced at the 2024 Scottish Design Awards on Wednesday, and we’re thrilled to share that we’ve been shortlisted in three categories!
Speaking on the positive news, Ross Barrett, Design Director said: ‘HLM are thrilled to be shortlisted in two categories and are also delighted to see our client University of Strathclyde shortlisted for Client of the Year!’.
HLM Architects has been shortlisted for Architectural Practice of the Year. This nomination reflects our position as a design-led practice and leaders in the field of sustainable design. In the last 12 months, our Glasgow Studio, with support from national-wide talent and knowledge, continue to drive innovations, seeking to challenge and improve the way we contribute to a more ambitious and positive built environment.
Continuing its winning streak, National Manufacturing Institute of Scotland (NMIS) is shortlisted for Commercial Project of the Year. This category considers project which have engaged on an aesthetic as well as a practical level. The new operationally carbon- neutral, BREEAM ‘outstanding’ facility creates a high-quality, open and collaborative environment that supports healthy working, fostering collaboration and promotes sustainability. NMIS has won a total of 14 awards to date!
We nominated the University of Strathclyde for Client of The Year, both for their enthusiasm and commitment to championing high quality architecture, and for their innovative, ambitious, collaborative, and bold approach to creating sustainable buildings and tackling climate change mitigation at scale. Our team at HLM has worked with the university on several projects over 20 years. It is however in the last 7 years via a collaborative framework agreement that our team has developed a fantastic working relationship with the University of Strathclyde team.
The Scottish design awards are Scotland’s most prestigious awards for architecture firms & design agencies.
Good luck to all the finalists and see you at the awards gala on the 27th June!
