Congratulations to Momo Sun, Senior Landscape Architect who has recently been appointed to the the Hounslow Council Design Review Panel (HRDP). Made up of 13 nationally respected built environment professionals from diverse backgrounds including landscape architects, architects, urban designers and sustainability experts.
The HDRP is a key part of the Council’s wider aspiration of raising the bar in design quality.
The independent panel supports the Council by offering expert, impartial advice on major development proposals, regeneration programmes and design policies submitted to Hounslow Council. The HDRP is a key part of the Council’s wider aspiration of raising the bar in design quality. Essentially, the HDRP is a critical friend to all parties. It helps inform the planning process leading to better design outcomes and gives greater confidence to decision makers to support innovative, high-quality design. Operating in the public interest the panel will always consider the best outcome for the whole community
The group meets monthly and scrutinises planning applications, looking at aspects such as the scales of development, the site and any local issues surrounding them. As Hounslow continues to grow, the borough is seeing an increasing demand for development and the HRDP plays a key role in supporting the planning team in embedding good design practices.
Momo has worked as lead landscape architect on many urban realm regeneration projects both in the UK and Internationally. She works closely with stakeholders, fostering active engagement and collaboration. By incorporating her passion for designing sustainable, inclusive landscapes she looks to bring green accessible spaces closer to the communities that use them.
Momo said “It’s a real honour to be part of the Design Review panel, it offers an opportunity to leverage my landscape architecture expertise to positively impact the built environment. My skills position me well to contribute valuable insights and uphold high standards in the design review processes, and possibly contribute to the regeneration of Hounslow.”
