We’re delighted to have been named the winners of a Regional British Chamber of Commerce Awards, after having been shortlisted for the second year running.

HLM’s nomination by the Sheffield Chamber of Commerce for the Workforce Developer award focused on key areas of our progressive culture, which encourages everyone within the business to pursue and achieve their ambitions.

New for 2022, the ‘Workforce Developer’ award celebrates a business’ commitment to people, recognising approaches to learning and development.

HLM’s nomination by the Sheffield Chamber of Commerce focused on key areas of our progressive culture, which encourages everyone within the business to pursue and achieve their ambitions. Some of the points included are:

  • Our support of staff in their development with the provision of LinkedIn Learning to support our HLM Academy
  • Our commitment to promoting internally, which both recognises staff ambitions and future-proofs the business
  • Our move to an Employee-Owned Trust and how this promotes our strength of purpose across the business
  • Our investment in social value, outreach and developing new pathways into Architecture to improve both the community and our business

As a regional winner, we will now go into the running for the national award, winners of which will be announced in December.

The British Chambers of Commerce Awards consider nominations from all 53 Accredited Chamber in the UK network, and we are therefore immensely proud of this recognition as being considered in the running for the national award!

“I’m incredibly proud that HLM have been selected as the regional winners for workforce development.

As with all businesses, we have had to be increasingly agile and it’s great to see us recognised for these efforts.

Our staff work incredibly hard, and it’s essential that we continue to support them”

Delia Harmston, Studio Director
