HLM Architects is overjoyed to announce that they have won the AJ100 ‘Employer of the Year’ award for the second year running.
“We’re absolutely delighted to receive this award for a second consecutive year. The events of the last year presented an opportunity for us to learn and grow as a practice. “
This award recognises the best practice for employees and is judged on HR issues such as staff satisfaction, workplace culture, benefits and staff turnover in 2020. Practices also need to demonstrate what initiatives have been put in place to help motivate, train, and support their staff and to promote diversity and inclusion in the workplace. This year, judges were particularly interested in how practices responded to the challenges of Covid-19, including the impact of both remote working and the pandemic in general on staff wellbeing.
Having introduced initiatives such as SMARTblend, a working concept which allows full flexibility to suit each individual, judges were impressed by HLM’s response to the pandemic, and how the practice turned it to their advantage as an opportunity for new ways of working and promoting wellbeing.
The judges praised HLM for ‘continuing to demonstrate its deep commitment to social mobility and widening access to the profession, and for its positive employee-centred approach to the pandemic’.
Karen Mosley, Managing Director, said, “We’re absolutely delighted to receive this award for a second consecutive year. The events of the last year presented an opportunity for us to learn and grow as a practice. We’ve used this time to further understand the unique and evolving needs of our employees, and put the right support in place. We want to be nimble, healthy, and productive, and have empowered our team to test out ways to bring more richness, diversity and a more sustainable approach to the way we work.”
