HLM are proud to announce the practice’s nomination for the category of ‘The Equality Trailblazer – Diversity and Inclusion’ at this year’s Chamber Business Awards.
To be nominated for this award is a great honour and a testament to the hard work and initiatives that have been implemented by the team.
The British Chambers are made up of 53 Accredited Chambers of Commerce across the UK, which together represent over 75,000 businesses in all sectors and of all sizes.
The awards take into account nominations from all regional chambers, and recognise businesses and individuals that showcase the best in entrepreneurship, export, green credentials, business diversification, and equality.
HLM is committed to designing and delivering nurturing environments that allow people to thrive and develop; this ‘thoughtful design’ philosophy is also extended into their internal and social initiatives. From developing alternative routes into the profession to developing communication frameworks, HLM consistently strive to find new ways to increase their influence on equality, diversity, and inclusion both inside and outside of the business.
Part of the Apprenticeship Trailblazer scheme which has developed two apprenticeships into architecture, HLM have demonstrated their commitment to social mobility and opening the profession to a more diverse range of people. They are also developing their own pathway from age 5 to full qualification, keen to inspire the younger generation to follow their ambitions and make architecture accessible to all. HLM’s ambition is to attract, support and retain a diverse mix of minds, creating a culture of equity and equality, where everyone from any background feels safe and can excel in their chosen career, and do their best work
Karen Mosley, Managing Director, commented, “To be nominated for this award is a great honour and a testament to the hard work and initiatives that have been implemented by the team.”
