The inspirational winners of the 2022 CN & NCE Inspiring Women in Construction and Engineering were crowned in front of the industry on Thursday 6 October at Hilton Bankside in London.
Celebrating the role models and organisations empowering women in construction and engineering, the new awards was jointly launched by NCE and its sister title Construction News. In total, seven winners have been crowned recognising the women and teams that stand out as exceptional and are designed to showcase both individual and organisation wide initiatives.
Following a rigorous judging process with an independent panel of judges, Karen won in recognition of her passion for development and inspiring others both inside and outside of HLM. Her commitment to addressing skills gaps and helping others to realise their ambitions is widely renowned both in the local area and within the industry, and this award further recognises her efforts.
“The awards celebrate both individuals and businesses that are making a real difference to making construction and engineering a welcoming place for women to work,” said NCE editor Claire Smith. “I’d like to congratulate all of our winners for coming forward as role models for the industry and I look forward to charting their career development progress as they work with our mentors.”
