We are delighted that NMIS has been shortlisted in the SBID International Design Awards – interior design public space category. Evaluated by leading industry experts for their technical content and aesthetic creativity the design-conscious public also have a say in voting for the most inspiring projects.
The SBID awards recognise, reward and celebrate design excellence across a broad range of categories spanning Interior Design, Fit-Out and Product.
NMIS features a highly sustainable, flexibility and adaptable interior. Its unique design embodies the ethos of the Manufacturing Institute and creates a modern facility that considers all aspects of contemporary manufacture. Both the exterior and interior design responds to climate change by using passive design features and clean, renewable energy technologies. These create a sustainable working environment that is carbon neutral in operation. The cleverly crafted interior scheme unites learning and collaborative areas by combining timber and a colour palette drawn from the local natural environment.
Andy Illingworth Head of Interior Architecture, HLM commented “Our team of interior designers worked hard to make the interior scheme as iconic as the exterior. We created a high-quality, healthy workplace with extensive natural daylight and many biophilic elements”
NMIS truly is an example of pushing the boundaries of offsite construction to achieve unique, world-class facilities.
