Chris has been part of the HLM family for more than 25 years, having started his career in the Sheffield studio before moving to London in 2002. Over this period, Chris worked on projects of all sizes – from bespoke, individual homes, where attention to detail is crucial – to vast mixed-use and commercial masterplans, where strategic-thinking is required to deliver effective, efficient and profitable schemes.
Chris has developed his skills across a wide variety of sectors including workplace, homes and, more recently, leisure, culture and community. He brings enthusiasm, design flair and extensive technical skill to all stages of projects, from conception to completion.
Chris is a key member of the London studio’s management structure. He’s a design-focused architect, providing strong conceptual skills, as well as leadership and strategic direction to the architectural process. His remit is to deliver design quality and ensure that this is achieved across the whole studio through regular internal reviews and mentoring.
