Jill is an experienced HR professional with nearly 18 years at HLM, where she has played a central role in supporting the company’s growth and fostering a culture of care, inclusion, and employee wellbeing. Since joining in 2007, she has developed and led key initiatives that have shaped HLM’s people strategy and wellbeing agenda.

With a natural commitment to supporting others, Jill has championed a number of impactful programmes across the business. She was the company’s first qualified Mental Health First Aider, is a Member of the Mental Health First Aider Association, and holds a Royal Society for Public Health (RSPH) Level 3 Award in Mental Health First Aid. She is also trained in Solutions-Focused Practice, providing empathetic and practical support to colleagues at all levels.

Jill’s influence extends beyond HLM. She was recently invited by the Sheffield Chamber of Commerce to act as a pioneer for their School of Excellence for Staff Health and Wellbeing, helping to shape sustainable approaches to employee wellbeing and productivity across the region.

In addition to her HR and wellbeing leadership, Jill also serves as an Employee Representative and Trustee Director for the HLM+LD Employee Ownership Trust. She continues to be a driving force behind HLM’s wellbeing strategy, leading the development of a dedicated mental health first aid team and embedding a culture where people feel supported, valued, and able to thrive.

Outside of work, Jill juggles life as a single mum to a lively tween, shares her home with three mischievous cats (who are a little too generous with their “gifts” from the fields), and a very clingy cockapoo who insists on following her everywhere. She loves trips to the theatre, true crime podcasts, and unwinding by building Lego masterpieces.
