Having joined HLM in 1989 as a graduate trainee, Michael has been an integral part of the HLM team for over 30 years. He is passionate about driving HLM’s culture to create an enthusiastic workplace and well-motivated team.
He brings sound technical knowledge combined with an appreciation of high quality design and has successfully delivered major projects across all sectors and regions most notably in Defence. He was privileged enough to meet the Queen as project Director at the royal opening of the RIBA award winning Queen’s Cancer Centre, Hull
Invited to join the board of Directors in October 2017 and appointed as Managing director in April 2024, Michael has focused on improving operational aspects across the business and values the culture that has been created over many years at HLM.
Did you know?
Michael has a love of Rugby Union and represented his beloved home county of Yorkshire as a schoolboy, as well as captaining his home town side of Wath-Upon-Dearne to 3 successive promotions during the early 90’s and is now Chairman of the club – his second home.
