The annual Sheffield Charity Construction Ball, held on 19th October, has raised a fantastic £30,500 for Weston Park Cancer Charity, the region’s only specialist cancer hospital, providing care for thousands of patients across South Yorkshire, North Derbyshire and North Nottinghamshire.

This exceeds the amount raised at last year’s event, and brings the running total to £266,000 raised for local charities since the first Ball was held in 2001.

Jointly organised by Arup, HLM and Rider Levett Bucknall, this year’s Ball was sponsored by Anderson Green, Eastwood & Partners, CMS, Sheffield Property Association and Vinci Construction, and sold out in record time, with over 300 people from across the construction industry in attendance.

Weston Park Cancer Charity Business Development Manager, Darren Hayes, commented; “I was delighted by the amount raised tonight, which will bring us closer to reaching our annual target of £2 million to improve the lives of those living with cancer. The generosity received by everyone on the night has been sensational.”

The organisers stated; “We want to say a massive ‘thank you’ to the sponsors and all that attended the Sheffield Charity Construction Ball last week and helped us to raise so much money for a fantastic local charity. It was a great night and an opportunity to reflect on the last year and all the exciting developments that are currently happening in and around Sheffield whilst raising money for a good cause.”
