Congratulations to Catalina San Andres, interior designer based in our Sheffield Studio

Catalina has been nominated and selected as one of this year’s Mix 30 under 30, class of 2024.  The annual awards now in their 9th year, celebrate and recognise the rising stars of the architectural & interior design community.  A true acknowledgment of tomorrow’s leaders in the UK commercial interior design industry.

Since joining HLM in 2019 as an intern it was clear that Catalina’s creative ability was evident.

She has a real passion for human centred design and has gone on to qualify with a Masters in Design, researching the impact that thoughtful interior design can have on mental health recovery and supporting hidden disabilities.

Andy Illingworth Head of Interior Design said

“Catalina has proved herself to be an invaluable member of our interiors team, she has an exceptional understanding of healthcare interior design and carefully crafts spaces to aid recovery.”

Catalina commented:

“I was so excited to hear I have been nominated and I am really looking forward to celebrating with the rest of the nominees in September.  I feel very lucky to work as part of such a creative, supportive team.”

Catalina has worked on project across many sectors but her passion lies in creating healing interiors for healthcare buildings, reducing the sterile feel and providing a more holistic environment for staff and visitors.  She is a valuable member of the interior team, going above and beyond to make a positive impact on people’s daily lives through the interior concepts she creates.  Well done Catalina!

There will be a celebratory event for all nominees at Clerkenwell, London on Thursday 5th September.
