We are excited to announce that HLM Architects have been shortlisted for the Offsite Awards Pioneer of the Year category alongside Akerlof, Buro Happold and Limberger Associates!
The consortium has been nominated for our Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) Standardisation Research and Kit of Parts project for the Ministry for Housing, Communities, & Local Government (MHCLG, formerly DLUHC).
On behalf of MHCLG, we have developed an open-access Digital Kit of Parts for MMC in low-rise housing. This pioneering initiative fosters sector growth by standardising components across multiple suppliers, promoting interoperability, and establishing a common digital language that will encourage the adoption of MMC in low-rise housing.
The Offsite Awards highlight the achievements of those who have significantly advanced methods and technologies in offsite construction, promoting efficiency, sustainability, and creativity in the built environment. Being shortlisted for the Pioneer of the Year Award reflects our groundbreaking work in integrating offsite construction techniques that are transforming the architectural landscape whilst delivering better and more sustainable housing for people and their communities.
At HLM Architects, we have a distinguished reputation for pushing the boundaries of design and construction. Our portfolio showcases a range of projects that prioritise sustainability, community, and innovation. This recognition is a testament to our and consortium’s commitment to enhancing the built environment through offsite construction.
Anne Daw, Head of MMC Delivery at HLM Architects, shares her delight in being shortlisted:
“We are incredibly proud that our Digital Kit of Parts for Low Rise Housing has been named as a finalist in the Pioneer of the Year Award. We hope that this accolade will encourage wider adoption of MMC in low-rise housing and showcase its vast potential for broader, pan-departmental applications. By embracing MMC, we can drive significant advancements in sustainability, efficiency, and innovation within the construction industry.”
