We’re delighted to share that the National Manufacturing Institute Scotland has been shortlisted in the ‘Commercial Project of the Year’ category in this year’s Herald Property Awards for Scotland .

The awards celebrate the outstanding achievements of Scotland’s most innovative designers.

Now in their sixteenth year, the awards recognise Scottish design excellence and celebrate companies that are shaping the built environment in Scotland.

Ross Barrett, Design Director said “We are delighted to be shortlisted in the commercial property sector. The new National Manufacturing Institute is an innovative, energy carbon neutral facility that we are immensely proud of. NMIS itself is a truly collaborative space and also a product of real collaboration with the University of Strathclyde and many other partners who have brought this project to life”.

The Commercial Project of the Year category is judged on how well properties meet the needs of their target market alongside the quality of design, layout, location, features, specification and energy efficiency. Innovation in materials, building techniques and architectural design are also key considerations, as well as combatting green issues. Innovation is at the heart of NMIS, which is reflected in its unique and striking form, purple exterior and the materials and approaches used in construction.

Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony in September – you can view the full list of shortlisted organisations and projects here: Finalists announced for The Herald Property Awards 2023 | HeraldScotland
