The prestigious FX Awards recognise the best design projects from across the world, and are one of the highlights of the design industry calendar. The awards cover a total of 22 categories this year with The Wave being shortlisted in the Outside Space and Landscape Space category and LIHE being shortlisted in the Public Space Schemes category.

The Wave is a 16,600sqm building for the for the Faculty of Social Sciences – University of Sheffield, designed to meet future growth demands to the year 2035 and provide a world class, highly sustainable environment that encourages collaboration and enhances the faculty’s reputation for excellence in teaching and research. The public realm that surrounds the new building was a key component in the expansion of the University Campus, building on the award-winning public realm scheme for the University of Sheffield’s Concourse, former winner of an FX Award in this same category.

LIHE is King’s College London’s newest facilitybuilt in partnership with the Guys and St. Thomas’ Trust. Embedded in St Thomas’ Hospital, the project is a state-of-the-art research and innovation hub where medicine and education will come together, developing treatments of the future. LIHE meets the challenges of creating a place where innovation and collaboration is nurtured and facilitated through adaptable and dynamic building design.

We’re looking forward to attending this awards on the 27th November.
