Since joining HLM in 2009, Anne has worked across multiple sectors including education, residential and defence – with projects ranging from schools and university buildings to residential flats and Defence Estate Masterplans.

Her primary design focus since completing her Master of Architecture degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and moving to the UK has been in education design. Her master’s level design for the New American School was published in Architecture Record (August 1993), and she has continued to design buildings that have won numerous awards for our clients.

More recently, Anne’s designs within the education sector have developed with her in-depth knowledge of Modern Methods of Construction (MMC), where she is helping to support several research and development projects that span across multiple sectors.

Outside of work, Anne has been the Vice Chair of a local Neighbourhood Planning Forum for the past 7 years, helping residents of the Broomhill area of Sheffield to develop their own neighbourhood planning policies. She also enjoys organising street parties, joining in with her neighbourhood book group, raising fruits and vegetables, and her two children.
