This year’s Sheffield Charity Construction Ball held on the 16 June raised a record amount of £36,500 for Weston Park Cancer Charity.
The Ball has raised more than £365,000 since its first iteration more than 20 years ago, with the most recent event totalling the highest in its history.
The annual event, which brings together the region’s construction and property sector, is organised by ARUP, HLM Architects and Rider Levett Bucknall and each year raises money for a selected charity.
This year’s Ball, held on June 16th at the Crowne Plaza Royal Victoria, Sheffield, was attended by close to 300 guests who were entertained by Sheffield band Acoustic Angels and host Dean Andrews – renowned actor and patron of Weston Park Cancer Charity.
The Ball has raised more than £365,000 since its first iteration more than 20 years ago, with the most recent event totalling the highest in its history.
The donation will be put towards an exciting new project that will see the charity expanding into the wider community – details of which will be announced soon.
Weston Park Cancer Charity’s head of fundraising, Darren Hayes, said: “Weston Park Cancer Charity was extremely privileged to be this year’s chosen charity at the Sheffield Charity Construction Ball.
“We enjoyed a great evening and are thrilled with the amount that was raised by the generous people in attendance, which will go towards the life-altering care and support our teams provide for the one in two people living with cancer in our region.”
Organisers Marie Hadfield of HLM Architects, Kathryn Hind of RLB and Charlotte Horsman of ARUP said in a joint statement: “We would like to say a huge ‘thank you’ to everyone that attended the Sheffield Charity Construction Ball helping us to raise a record amount of money for Weston Park Cancer Charity.
