We’re pleased to share that we have been shortlisted in the MMC Awards for the second year running.
“These two shortlistings show our commitment to delivering the highest quality of spaces, enhancing wellbeing and social value.”
Our design for Trent View College has been shortlisted in the ‘Project of the Year – Education (Secondary & Higher)’ category. Trent View is a post-16 facility with the purpose of enabling students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) to develop skills for independence. The first SEN college to include a hydrotherapy pool to achieve Passivhaus certification, Trent View used CLT due to its high levels of air tightness and low thermal conductivity.
Having won multiple awards in the past year, the National Manufacturing Institute Scotland (NMIS) has been shortlisted in the ‘Championing Carbon Reduction/Net Zero in a Project’ category. Driven by low-carbon outcomes at every stage, a clear strategy on NMIS resulted in impressively low embodied and operational carbon metrics. It operates without the use of fossil fuels, and includes infrastructure to maximise onsite renewable energy generation.
Anne Daw, Head of MMC Delivery, commented:
“We use our Thoughtful Design ethos to select the type of MMC according to our clients’ requirements, ensuring we deliver value in terms of environmental performance, low carbon usage, and programme. These two shortlistings show our commitment to delivering the highest quality of spaces, enhancing wellbeing and social value.”
The MMC Awards were launched in 2024 by Step Connect in partnership with the Modular and Portable Building Association. Winners will be announced at a celebratory ceremony on the 8th May.
Good luck to all the finalists!
