The prestigious FX Awards recognise the best design projects from across the world, and are one of the highlights of the design industry calendar. The awards cover a total of 25 categories this year, and the judging panel is made up of 28 industry experts.
The redevelopment of Techniquest, shortlisted in the Leisure and Entertainment category, sees the re-imagining of one of Cardiff’s most iconic science museums. The ‘envelope’ design provides onlookers with a glimpse of the new interior, which provides 1000 square feet of additional multi-use space to the original build.
The Concourse at Sheffield University has earned a place on the shortlist for Outside Space – a new category for 2021. Located in the heart of the campus, the Concourse has been brought to life as a vibrant and social space for staff, students, and visitors to enjoy. The space now has improved access for cycles, bespoke seating with integrated lighting, and seasonal planting.
The winners will be announced at a virtual event held on the 24th November.
