Sheffield’s legendary artist Joe Scarborough last week unveiled his latest work, which captures the old and modern Attercliffe.

Joe was commissioned to produce a major piece to mark the completion of the first development phase at Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park which has attracted over £100m in public and private sector investment.
The artwork includes the centrepiece of the Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park, the Advanced Wellbeing Research Centre (AWRC) which was designed by HLM Architects. The AWRC co-locates business, industry and the public sector to work collaboratively to develop innovations to help people move and improve the nations quality of life, using Sheffield as a living lab.
Joe said the painting, which he described as being ‘in motion’, reflects the development of Attercliffe.
Several organisations associated with the Park joined together to commission the painting and we were thrilled to be asked to support this and delighted to receive a signed copy from Joe himself at the unveiling last week which will be in pride of place at our Sheffield Studio.

Created following the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games to deliver whole population improvements in health and wellbeing, Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park is the only legacy park outside an Olympic host city anywhere in the world.
A total of 100 limited edition prints of the painting will be available to purchase at Joe Scarborough Art – Paintings, Art , Prints and Merchandise
The original painting will initially be hosted at the Advanced Wellbeing Research Centre and, in the future, will move around Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park to different venues.
