We’re pleased to share that we have been shortlisted for three categories in this year’s Architect of the Year awards.
Organised by Building Design magazine, the Architect of the Year awards give practices the opportunity to showcase their expertise within different sectors, through submission of a portfolio of work.
We have been shortlisted for:
Net Zero Architect of the Year
Our submitted projects were: Keele University’s Innovation Centre 7; ‘the Wave’ for the University of Sheffield; the National Manufacturing Institute Scotland (NMIS) for the University of Strathclyde; and research and development project, ‘Net Zero Campus’ with the University of Glasgow. This range of work illustrates our commitment to a sustainable future of the built environment, with a range of technology and infrastructure contributing to net zero.
Higher Education Architect of the Year
We showcased our projects ‘the Wave’ for the University of Sheffield and NMIS for the University of Strathclyde; two very different but equally unique pieces of architecture which pave the way for progressive education and innovation.
Retail and Leisure Architect of the Year
For this entry, we included our projects: Radisson Blu and Event Central in Sheffield; Carnival Hub, Wokingham; and the Ingliston Hotel, Edinburgh. Each of these projects bring varied benefits and significance to their communities.
Philip Watson, Head of Design, commented:
“To be shortlisted in one category of the AYA is always very satisfying, so to be recognized in three categories is a great achievement, reflecting our broad design strength and commitment to sustainability.”
The winners will be announced at the awards dinner on the 17th October. Good luck to all the finalists – we look forward to seeing you on the evening!
