Last Thursday, the University of Strathclyde proudly received the Client of the Year award at the Scottish Design Awards, recognising their exceptional commitment to high-quality architecture, innovation, and sustainability. We nominated the University for their enthusiasm for creating groundbreaking, sustainable buildings and their collaborative approach to tackling climate change.
University of Strathclyde Wins Client of the Year at Scottish Design Awards
We have partnered with the University of Strathclyde for over 20 years, with the last seven years under a collaborative framework agreement marking a particularly fruitful period. Together, they have delivered several pioneering projects, including the University’s first operationally net zero carbon building completed in 2023, the National Manufacturing Institute Scotland (NMIS). As one of Scotland’s leading institutes, NMIS is the University’s first net zero carbon in operation and BREEAM Outstanding building. The building exemplifies the University’s dedication to sustainability perfectly. The University’s collaborative approach with partners like High Value Manufacturing Catapult and Scottish Government played a crucial role in its success.
Other notable collaborations with the university include two EnerPHit studies to decarbonise the campus, two major Passivhaus projects within the Glasgow City Innovation District, and various refurbishment projects aimed at prolonging the life of existing university assets.
