Andy recently joined HLM having spent 36 years with Mott MacDonald. Qualified as a chartered civil and structural engineer, Andy gained extensive design and site experience across multiple sectors before moving into defence project management. Almost 30 years of varied, interesting and challenging projects followed, with the later 10-15 years in defence leadership roles as DIO Framework Director for both UK and USVF projects, and latterly Mott MacDonald buildings unit defence lead and member of the defence leadership team.
With his extensive experience Andy is set to play a pivotal role in driving the growth of HLM’s defence sector, while also shaping the future of our project management team. He’ll champion the development of a stronger, clearer structure for project management across the practice, helping to raise standards and create lasting value. Alongside this, Andy will take the lead on bidding for defence opportunities, strengthen collaboration with our security team, and ensure we continue to deliver sensitive projects with the highest levels of safety and assurance.
Andy is fervent in his drive to deliver excellence for customers and strives through his teams to create a consistency in the quality of delivery, through excellent communication and always focusing on what the project needs.
