Damien rejoined HLM in January 2026 as senior architect in our Plymouth studio. His career began with HLM in 2010, where he progressed from part I assistant to qualified architect.
Damien brings over 15 years’ experience across sectors including residential, education, workplace, defence, emergency services, healthcare, hospitality, heritage and custodial.
He thrives on the excitement of a blank canvas, shaping purposeful spaces that meet real needs. Equally, he’s passionate about breathing new life into under-used buildings—honouring their history while adapting them for modern use. This balance of innovation and respect drives Damien’s approach to design.
Damien has a strong passion for the technical aspects of architecture, thriving on the challenge of understanding intricate project details and how each component connects. He also values client engagement, and during his time at a small practice, he gained considerable experience in building relationships, understanding client needs, and delivering high quality outcomes.
