Julie is an architect and environmental design specialist with a strong focus on regenerative architecture and the relationship between buildings, people and the environment.
She studied Bioclimatic and Biomimetic Architecture at Manchester School of Architecture before completing an MSc in Energy-efficient and Environmental Building Design at Lund University, Sweden.
Julie has gained international architectural experience across the UK, France, Ireland and the Netherlands, working across a diverse range of sectors and scales, including commercial, retail, masterplanning, mixed-use, transport, education, high-rise and building-conversion projects.
Her environmental design expertise spans Passivhaus at scale, building performance, daylight analysis and the integration of climate-responsive strategies into architectural design. She is a BREEAM AP for UK and International New Construction and has also worked as a Code for Sustainable Homes assessor. Her wider experience encompasses health and wellbeing in the built environment, including WELL Building Standard and Fitwel projects, as well as indoor air-quality monitoring and the use of environmental sensors to better understand and optimise building performance.
Julie is particularly interested in moving architecture beyond simply reducing environmental impact towards a more regenerative approach: creating buildings that respond intelligently to climate, support human health and wellbeing, use resources responsibly, and contribute positively to their wider ecological and social context.
