Marcus joined the HLM team in 1995, and from the outset he was quick to make the most of his CAD and general IT knowledge. His combined understanding of the architectural process and computing helped us to develop early CAD standards and procedures, improving business efficiency dramatically.
From here, this rapidly developed into HLM’s digital and technology strategy, leading HLM and the wider group through their digital transformation to having a truly digital first mindset.
Marcus was appointed a director of HLM where his role sees him develop, lead and deliver digital strategies and innovation across all companies within the group.
As a regular speaker and attendee of digital construction events, Marcus is always involved in industry developments in technology use. Innovation is at the heart of everything he does and he setup HLM RaD, the company’s dedicated R&D function, where an environment of experimentation lets staff innovate to enhance the delivery of projects.
Marcus believes that the correct use of digital innovation and data will be the future of our profession; the correct application will transform both the architectural profession and the wider construction industry, as well as provide valuable efficiencies to the company.
