Mike is a technical director with over 25 years’ experience as an architectural technologist. Based in HLM’s Cardiff studio, he provides technical leadership across the practice, advising on regulatory compliance, quality procedures, research and innovation. He has extensive experience across education, defence, healthcare, justice and leisure sectors, and was instrumental in establishing Tech[HUB], HLM’s platform for sharing technical knowledge and best practice.
He is passionate about sustainability and regenerative design. A certified Passive House designer, Mike champions the use of low-carbon materials and proven building physics to deliver high-performing, resilient buildings. He values collaboration at every stage of design and believes the best solutions come from open knowledge sharing and strong engagement with project teams and trades on site.
