Moinak Basu headshot

After graduating in India with his final year project being selected amongst the top three nationwide and completing a Master’s in Environmental Design with distinction, Moinak joined HLM in 2009. Since then, Moinak has worked in the healthcare, education, defence, and regeneration sectors through all workstages, and has developed a wealth of experience and knowledge through complex projects.

Over recent years Moinak has shifted his attention to project management and is successfully managing a number of defence estate optimisation programme projects nationwide with a number of tier 1 contractors.

Whilst Moinak is based in the Sheffield studio, his role is national and is embedded with project and contractor teams across the UK. As a project manager, Moinak specialises in guiding teams and stakeholders through complex projects with clarity and focus. Skilled in planning, coordination, and risk management, Moinak helps create a positive working environment while keeping projects aligned with strategic goals.

Moinak believes building strong lasting relationships and good communication is the key to success for all. Moinak has been an active member of HLM’s sustainability group and has championed several initiatives at the practice. Outside of work Moinak is a keen photographer, enjoys travelling and hiking.

  • 2008: Stood 1st with Distinction at Post Graduate Level for Master of Science in Computer Aided Environmental Design at the University of Sheffield

  • 2005: BArch with 1st Class Honours
