Heritage-led placemaking

We were appointed to reimagine Enderby Wharf – a historic riverside site in Greenwich – into a thriving new neighbourhood.

Our masterplan is deliverable, resilient and rooted in community needs. Enderby Wharf stitches together heritage, landscape and urban living, creating a place that feels distinctly local, yet forward-looking. Our design includes new homes, a riverside park, cultural spaces and a public realm strategy that celebrates the site’s maritime legacy.

We worked with local historians and community groups to embed Enderby Wharf’s maritime legacy into the design – from interpretive signage to repurposed industrial structures. This gives the neighbourhood a distinct identity and sense of continuity.

Social value

This masterplan is about reconnecting people with place. By opening up the riverside, creating inclusive public spaces and embedding cultural heritage into the design, we’ve helped shape a neighbourhood that invites people in. Our approach prioritised access, wellbeing and long-term community benefit – making Enderby Wharf more than just a development.

It’s amazing to see the riverfront opened up for everyone – this place finally feels like it belongs to us.

Sustainability

Sustainability was central to our design. We embedded low-carbon principles, enhanced biodiversity and created a landscape framework that supports climate resilience. Our approach includes green roofs, permeable surfaces and a site-wide Sustainable Urban Drainage strategy – all designed to future-proof the neighbourhood.

Enderby Wharf gave us the chance to do something special – revive a historic site and create a place people genuinely want to be.

Reconnecting Greenwich with the Thames

Our landscape-led design opens up the riverfront, creating new pedestrian routes, public spaces and visual connections to the water. It’s a shift from industrial edge to civic heart, bringing people back to the river.

Blending ecology, history and leisure, the landscape creates a green spine that connects the site and invites exploration.
