Northfleet Harbourside gets green light

Gravesham Borough Council Gives Unanimous Green Light for Northfleet Harbourside Development

We’re delighted to share that Gravesham Borough Council unanimously resolved to grant Outline Planning Permission for Northfleet Harbourside in Kent.

The vision for Northfleet Harbourside encapsulates a vibrant, sustainable masterplan that integrates residential, commercial, and recreational spaces regenerating the area creating around 3,000 new jobs, providing homes and improving connections and amenities for the communities of Northfleet and Gravesham.

Revitalising brownfield land, the circa 50-arce site is centred on the delivery of a new 8,000 capacity stadium for Ebbsfleet United Football Club, alongside 3,500 new homes – both private and affordable housing, public parks and green spaces, a hotel and 150,000sq ft of commercial office space.

HLM Architects worked in collaboration with UN Studios and C&W Architects on the masterplan for Northfleet Harbourside Development Company. The design approach for the masterplan centres around lifestyle improvements, through crafting a new pedestrian focused destination combining a series of unique cultural, commercial, and community-oriented environments all adjacent to the River Thames and historic Northfleet Harbour.

“It has been a privilege to work alongside an engaged community, Ebbsfleet United fan base, local authority and client team. This outline consent ensures a future of prosperity for Northfleet and will bring forward a range of exciting spatial solutions to deliver this vision to revitalise the community environment.”

Now outline planning consent has been achieved, Northfleet Harbourside Development Company will begin working with Gravesham Borough Council to develop more detailed plans for each phase of the scheme.

This catalytic regeneration marks a new era of opportunity for the community of Northfleet and Gravesend. A sustainable, community led development which can deliver socio-economic prosperity for generations to come. Northfleet Harbourside, Ebbsfleet FC and Gravesham Borough Council should be congratulated for their desire to bring innovation and aspiration to this important riverside location. It is a privilege to be part of these exciting proposals.
