Juliana is an accomplished head of sustainability with over 14 years’ experience in architecture, environmental design, and sustainable building practices. Her professional journey is driven by a singular passion: to design positive, life-enhancing buildings that contribute to a regenerative future. With architectural degrees from Brazil and Portugal, and a Masters of Science in Environmental Design and Engineering from The Bartlett UCL, Juliana brings a multidisciplinary approach to every project she leads.
Her expertise spans a diverse range of sectors, including commercial, residential, student accommodation, and infrastructure. Juliana’s unique ability to integrate architectural design with building physics and sustainability principles has led to numerous successful projects, from bespoke, low-carbon office fit-outs to large-scale residential developments and high-profile infrastructure projects. As a certified Passivhaus designer, LEED accredited professional, and BREEAM accredited professional, she ensures that all her projects meet the highest standards of sustainability, energy efficiency, and occupant wellbeing.
At HLM, Juliana spearheads our carbon reduction initiatives and leads cross-disciplinary project teams, delivering innovative sustainability strategies and championing environmentally responsible design. Her work emphasizes the importance of holistic design, from concept to completion. Ensuring that each building minimises its environmental impact, and enhances the lives of its occupants.
